Notes, once we have something worth saying.

Six useful pieces a year beats a weekly post restating what everyone knows. Here is what we are working on.

Planned notes

What we are writing.

Each one exists because a founder asked, and we could not point at a good answer written for this market.

Incorporation documents laid out on a desk

Incorporating for foreign capital, without wrecking the local entity

Delaware, ADGM or local. When a flip is worth the tax event, and the intercompany agreement founders discover too late.

Pricing models compared on a laptop

Pricing when your costs are in rupees and your buyer is in dollars

Anchoring to local salaries destroys margin and signals the wrong thing. Price against the buyer's alternative instead.

Connections traced across a globe at night

The first ten customers, from six thousand miles away

What works for teams selling into the US and UK without a presence there — and the outbound patterns that reliably fail.

A team at work around a shared desk

Equity that people believe in

Option pools, vesting, and the conversation to have with an engineer who has never seen equity turn into money.

An open-plan office interior

Leaving the agency

Inside a services business and want to build product? What to keep, what to separate, how to fund it without killing cash flow.

An investor asking questions across a table

What a Series A investor asks about a Pakistani company

Structure, currency, key-person risk, customer concentration — and the evidence that answers each.

Method

How we will write these.

From real cases

From companies we have worked with or diligenced, anonymised where needed. Not summaries of foreign blog posts.

Numbers where we have them

Cite a figure, name the source. Estimate something, label it an estimate.

Corrections in public

Publish something wrong and the correction goes on the same page, not quietly over the text.

From cases Companies we worked with, not blog posts
Source figures checked against a printed table
Sourced Where the number came from, or labelled an estimate
Open questions

Things we genuinely do not know.

  • How many product-shaped companies start here each year Unknown
  • Whether the flip should happen at pre-seed or at Series A Contested
  • Which export sector produces the first large outcome Unknown
  • Whether local limited partners will hold for ten years Untested

Have data on any of these? We would rather be corrected than confident.

Have a view on one of these?

We want people who disagree in specific, informed ways.
